Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma becomes 1st Captain in Cricket History

Rohit Sharma created history as India defeated New Zealand in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 by 4 wickets.

Rohit Sharma has guided India to their second straight ICC title in less a year after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. 

Chasing 252 runs with the bat, the Indian captain finally got to a big score with the bat, as he slammed a 76-run knock from 83 balls. 

Rohit Sharma won the Player of the match award in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. He becomes the first captain in the history of cricket to win the Player of the Match award in the final of a Champions Trophy.
